2000 Preserving Tradition, Embracing Change Statesman

Abstract

The theme of the 2000 Statesman yearbook is "Preserving tradition; embracing change" and seeks to recognize that "our future is a product of our past." The yearbook commemorates the graduating class of 2000 and the arrival of a new millennium. The photographic content found within includes: campus buildings and scenery, Presidential Scholarship Ball, Miss DSU Kisha Barnett, Pride Day, homecoming, portraits of members of the class of 2000, a Garden party, fashion show, commencement, athletics, student government association elections, student clubs and organizations, and portraits of faculty. Additional content includes reproduced documents such as event fliers, event programs, Arts Center Gallery advertisements, and news clippings. The final 16 pages of the yearbook is comprised of a "1999-2000 World Yearbook" of world events and popular culture created by Herff Jones.
